Consent to the Collection and Use of Personal Information for Payment
NICE Payments Co., Ltd." (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") places importance on the user's personal information and complies with the Act on Promoting Use of Information Communication Network and Protecting Information, Privacy Protection Act and Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. The Company collects and uses the following personal information from the users of Payment Gateway Service and Escrow Service (hereinafter referred to as "the Services"). The Company may share selected information with the Center for International Area Studies for the purposes of journal publication.
1. Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information
The Company uses the collected personal information for:
- - confirmation of identity and real name verification for establishment, maintenance and termination of service provision contract, various membership management and for sending contract copy;
- - identification, authentication, real name verification and various announcement/notice during service provision process;
- - prevention of illegal and unauthorized use;
- - confirmation of consent or withdrawal (including escrow service refund account information)necessary for service provision and related matters;
- - service provision and CRM based on the frequency of use and demographic characteristics;
- - registration of merchant information for each payment instrument for service provision
- - transmission of the user's payment information, personal information keeping history and so on to the issuer of the payment instrument of the user(e.g. a credit card company in the case of a credit card), who concluded the contract with the user regarding the payment instrument, for service provision (authorization, etc.) and related business processing (customer complaint, inspection of personal information management status, etc.)
- - sending mail provided by the Company to the customers according to the Consumer Protection Act; and

- - delivery of advertisement information (within billing notification email) including information on the event provided by the Company, provision of customized service, provision of services according to statistical characteristics, and actual marketing activities.
2. Collection Items and Collection Method of Personal Information
1) Collection Items of Personal Information
A. Mandatory Items
- - Name of the user (in the case of a merchant, names of the representative and the person in charge), date of birth, mobile phone number (in the case of a merchant, mobile phone numbers of the representative and the person in charge), unique identifier, phone number, email address (in the case of a merchant, email addresses of the representative and the person in charge), trade name, business registration number (corporation number), category and conditions of business, shopping mall URL, business address, main phone number, facsimile number, transactional payment information (settlement bank, account number, account name), transaction information of goods or service
- - Additional information (connection IP/MAC address, cookie, e-mail, service access date, service use record, bad or abnormal use record, billing history) may be automatically or manually generated and collected during service use or service processing other than the above-mentioned collection items of personal information.
B. Optional Items
- - In addition to the mandatory items, the information in the contract documents or the information provided by the customer (e.g. escrowservice refund account informationsuch as bank name, account number, account holder, etc.)
- - Address, fax number, etc.
2) Collection Method of Personal Information
- - Collect information that the user presents themselves through homepage (NICEPAY new service application bulletin board), written form, fax, e-mail, payment window of the electronic financial service provided by the Company, and affiliates who have signed a business alliance agreement
3. Retention and Use Period of Personal Information
In principle, the personal information of the user is destroyed without delay when the purpose of collecting and using the personal information is achieved. Provided, however, that in cases where it is necessary to retain such information under the relevant laws such as the Electronic Financial Transactions Act, the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, personal information will be retained for a certain period determined by the relevant laws and regulations. In this case, the Company will only use the information it keeps for the purpose of keeping it, and the period of retention is as follows:
- 1) Record of withdrawal of contract or offer: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce and etc.)
- 2) Record of payment and goods supply: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce and etc.)
- 3) Record of electronic financial transactions exceeding 10,000 KRW per incident: 5 years (Electronic Financial Transactions Act)
- 4) Records of consumer complaints or disputes: 3 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce and etc.)
- 5) Records on collection/processing and use of credit information:3 years (Act on the Use and the Protection of the Credit Information)
- 6) Records of visits: 3 years (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)
- 7) Record of electronic financial transactions less than 10,000 KRW per incident: 1 year (Electronic Financial Transactions Act)
- 8) Record of identity verification: 6 months (Act on Promoting Use of Information Communication Network and Protecting Information)
4. Right of User to Refuse to the Collection and Use of Personal Information
Users may refuse the collection and use of the personal information by the Company. Provided, however, that if the consent is declined, payment for the service will not be completed normally.
※ The matters relating to the processing of personal information are subject to the Company's privacy policy.
5. Refund and Cancellation Due to Withdrawal of Submission
When an author withdraws their journal submission request and the journal approves the refund, the company will process the refund on the next business day (based on banking business days) according to the author's payment method. For cash payments, the refund will be processed to the account designated by the author, while for credit cards and other payment methods, a cancellation will be processed.
After withdrawing a journal submission, the author must ensure that any materials or documents received are safely returned to the journal. If the materials are damaged due to reasons attributable to the author, notwithstanding the above paragraph, the matter must be resolved through mutual agreement between the author and the journal.
